Conditions Under Which QR Code Restrictions for Entertainment Venues Will Be Lifted Are Revealed

Visiting cafes, theaters, or other entertainment venues using a QR code is a temporary restriction, and the Ministry of Health will lift this limitation if coronavirus cases decline. Anahit Avanesyan, the Minister of Health of Armenia, stated this in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia, responding to a question regarding whether the ministry plans to abolish the requirement for QR codes or test results for accessing entertainment venues in the near future.

“We always approach restrictions very flexibly and apply them only in cases of strict necessity. When the situation that necessitated the restriction is resolved, we respond quickly and lift the restriction. This also applied to the policy on lockdowns. Undoubtedly, the limitation on visits to entertainment venues is also temporary,” said the minister.

According to Avanesyan, this restriction aims to reduce transmissibility and promote an increase in vaccinations. She mentioned that during this time, she personally visited both a theater and a cafe. “I have visited both the theater and the cafe myself. Fortunately, there have been checks in all places. I have not heard of any complaints,” said Avanesyan.

Regarding the decrease in the number of visitors to entertainment venues due to the restrictions, Avanesyan noted that it is not accurate to evaluate at this moment whether the restriction has affected the turnover of cafes.
