Johnson and Macron Discuss Ukraine in Phone Call

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, held a phone call to discuss the tense situation surrounding Ukraine. This was reported in a statement issued by the UK Prime Minister's office.

“The leaders informed each other about the negotiations being conducted with international partners, including this week’s Prime Minister’s visit to Kyiv. They agreed that in the face of the current tensions, the pursuit of a diplomatic solution must remain a priority,” the statement said.

They emphasized that the two countries will continue to cooperate in developing sanctions against Russia in the event of an attack on Ukraine. During the phone conversation, Macron and Johnson also discussed issues related to strengthening bilateral ties and the importance of ensuring unity among NATO members.
