Shooting at Tajik-Kyrgyz Border Ceased, Casualties Reported
Shooting at the Tajik-Kyrgyz border has ceased. This has been confirmed to RIA Novosti by the press service of the head of Tajikistan's Sughd region.
The Tajik National Security Committee has reported that as a result of the conflict near the border with Kyrgyzstan, 2 people have been killed and 10 injured, among which 6 are servicemen.
It is noteworthy that last night, the Kyrgyz Border Service announced a shooting incident between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards. According to the agency's information, the Tajik side used grenade launchers and mortars, while the conflict was triggered by the closure of the highway connecting the cities of Isfana and Batken in Kyrgyzstan by Tajik military personnel.
