Citizen Stabs Neighbor in the Neck with Knife, Victim Dies
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions to clarify the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 35-year-old resident of Abovyan, under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
The report regarding the incident was received from the Abovyan Medical Center on January 20, 2022, at around 19:00, stating that a resident born in 1986 had been admitted with a diagnosis of 'cut-puncture wound to the neck' and had died on the way to the hospital.
As a result of immediate measures taken, it has been established that on January 20, 2022, at approximately 18:00, in front of an apartment entrance in one of the buildings on Darani Street in Abovyan, a 32-year-old resident of the same building stabbed his 35-year-old fellow citizen in the neck with a sharp cutting-piercing tool, causing life-threatening injuries.
An on-site investigation was carried out, during which blood-like traces, plastic and metal parts of a knife handle were discovered. Several witnesses have been interrogated, seizures have been made, and forensic medical, forensic genetic, and forensic trace examinations have been ordered.
The 32-year-old man has been arrested and has provided a self-incriminating confession. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
