Congratulations on the Significant Increase in Gas, Water, and Electricity Prices: Naira Zohrabyan

As of February 1, electricity prices will increase, water prices have already risen, and natural gas prices will also rise on April 1. Former MP Naira Zohrabyan made this announcement on her Facebook page.

“Congratulations on the significant increase in gas, water, and electricity prices. When in pre-revolutionary Armenia there was an attempt to raise the price of minibus travel by 50 drams, the 200 dram beer-drinking contingent of Yerevan's pubs, the ‘intellectuals', and the western grant segment started a national liberation movement for 100 drams, which culminated in the victory of revolutionary rebels. The price of minibus travel remained at 100 drams, and to this day, people continue to travel, stacked upon one another like the ‘Aurora’ potato variety, which has stable immunity against phytophthora.

And here’s the good news for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, who officially face 33% and actually around 60% poverty. As of February 1, electricity prices will increase, water prices have already risen, and natural gas prices will also rise on April 1.

Let me inform you that on April 1, the price of Russian gas on the border will be $173.3, meaning the import gas price will increase by $8.3, or 5%. For consumers entitled to family or social benefits (up to 600 cubic meters per year), the natural gas tariff will amount to 133.1 AMD per cubic meter, which means it will increase by 33.1% or 33.1 AMD. For greenhouse enterprises, the natural gas tariff will be $277.3 per 1000 cubic meters, meaning it will increase by 23.8% or $53.3. The same applies to processing organizations, where the natural gas tariff will also be $277.3 per 1000 cubic meters, with the same percentage increase.
