We Cannot Overlook Our Close Ties with Kyiv if War Breaks Out with Russia, Çavuşoğlu
Turkey believes that the tension between Russia and NATO has reached a dangerous level, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, according to TASS news agency.
“The tension in Russia-NATO relations has reached a dangerous level. Turkey will not ignore its close relationships with Ukraine just because of its extensive relations with Russia,” said the Turkish minister, adding that Ankara, despite its connections with Moscow, cannot overlook its warm ties with Kyiv if war breaks out between Ukraine and Russia.
“When solving such complex equations, we do everything necessary for our national security. It is a difficult task, but diplomacy is meant for that,” Çavuşoğlu added.
