Azerbaijanis Conducted Sabotage Incursion, Removed Flag from Wall and Left: Abrahamyan
Near the well-known tank monument in Shushi, the flag of the Republic of Artsakh was once depicted on a wall, which has been vandalized under unknown circumstances. This was stated on Facebook by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'I Have Honor' faction.
‘Considering the fact that the contact line with the Azerbaijanis runs just above the monument, it can be assumed that Azerbaijanis carried out a sabotage incursion, cleaned the painted flag from the wall and left. This issue raises at least two questions for clarification: Who is the author of such an act, and how and under what conditions were they able to descend into the area under Armenian control?’
It is presumed that the provocation was carried out by Azerbaijanis, but aside from the desecration of a Armenian symbol, this incident highlights the vulnerability of Artsakh's security, as it occurred in an area under Armenian control, adjacent to the Stepanakert-Shushi road segment. Given such neighbors as Azerbaijan, similar barbarisms are unfortunately expected; however, our responsibility should be to prevent Azerbaijani provocations by all possible means, including sabotage incursions. This requires a flexible system for ensuring the security of communications and borders, new solutions, and measures appropriate to the situation, the quality of which is still far from being adequate.’
