Russia's MFA on the First Meeting of the "3+3" Format
On December 10 in Moscow, the first meeting of the "3+3" consultative regional platform took place with the participation of the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, as well as the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's department, the Russian MFA reported.
It is noted that representatives from Georgia, who were also invited, refrained from attending the meeting.
During the meeting, prospects for developing regional multilateral cooperation were discussed. An agreement was reached to focus the platform's work on practical issues of interest to all its participants.
These include measures to build trust, cooperation in trade, economic, transport, and cultural-humanitarian fields, and responses to common challenges and threats.
Representatives from the five countries expressed interest in the issue of Georgia joining the format. Future actions were discussed, with Armenia represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan at the meeting.
