Video: Veteran Appeals to Papikyan, Requests Solution Instead of 300,000 Dram Aid
“As a war veteran, I do not need the allocated 300,000 dram aid; I will return it. You can give it to others. If you want to help me, organize my exit from the country so that I can receive treatment abroad. I do not need any other assistance, and I am not interested in any other issues at this moment,” said 32-year-old David Hakobyan, a first-group disabled veteran deprived of health due to a botched surgery, addressing the newly appointed Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan during a Facebook live stream.
“Officials from the Ministry of Defense have shown hostile attitudes towards me because I keep reminding them of my issue and demanding a solution,” the young man stated, revealing that he regularly sends letters to the Ministry of Defense, asking for a meeting with the minister, but to no avail; no one pays attention to him.
“They promised that they would send me to Germany for treatment and that I would undergo a medical examination. Nothing has been done… In this state, I live as if I am a captive,” the former serviceman said, urging the Ministry of Defense to find a solution to his problem instead of providing the funds.
