Azerbaijan Sets New Rules Daily on the Goris-Kapan Road
The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reports that new regulations are being established daily by Azerbaijanis in the area of the Goris-Kapan highway, which is now under their control. Recently, one of our compatriots traveled this route and took a photo of a 'Welcome to Azerbaijan' sign.
This did not go unnoticed by the Russian and Azerbaijani soldiers posted in the area. They stopped the vehicle and informed the driver that according to Azerbaijani legislation, foreign citizens are prohibited from photographing their checkpoints and can be fined 100,000 drams.
After negotiations, a compromise was reached: the citizen deleted the photo and continued on their way. It should be noted that vehicles are allowed to pass through this route only once an hour, with cars accumulating at the checkpoint and waiting for their turn.
