Some Information About the Moderna and CoronaVac Vaccines
The National Institute of Health continues to provide accessible information regarding vaccines.
Thus, the Moderna vaccine is indicated for the prevention of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for individuals aged 18 and older for active immunization. The overall efficacy of the Moderna vaccine is 94.1%. Among individuals over 18, regardless of gender or ethnic background, the vaccine provides high efficacy.
On the other hand, the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine was developed by the Beijing-based Sinovac Biotech company. CoronaVac works by using inactivated viral particles to familiarize the body's immune system with the virus and to create antibodies. It cannot cause disease, replicate, or integrate into human DNA. The vaccine has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for use against COVID-19.
