Arrest Made in Murder of Russian Citizen in Yerevan
On October 12, 2021, at 01:43, the Police of Armenia received a report from a citizen regarding a stabbing incident involving a guest at one of the houses on Amaranotsayin Street in the Victory neighborhood of Yerevan. This was announced by the Investigative Committee.
According to the medical center's documentation, at 01:40 on the same day, a 46-year-old man's body was transferred to the medical center with a "stab wound to the first wall of the chest." A forensic examination has been appointed to clarify the cause of death of the aforementioned man and several other circumstances.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Malatia-Sebastia division of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under part 1 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code.
As a result of investigative and procedural actions, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified, including the identity of the suspected perpetrator, a resident of Yerevan born in 1975. According to the information obtained, during an argument over parking a vehicle on the mentioned street, the man intentionally stabbed the guest of his neighbor in the left front side of the chest, resulting in the victim's death on the way to the hospital.
The 46-year-old resident of Yerevan has been arrested. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
