AZAL's Announcement on Flights Through Armenian Airspace
AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines) has announced that starting from October 6, it will begin using Armenian airspace for domestic flights from Baku to Nakhchivan and back, reports Trend News Agency.
"This step shows Azerbaijan's determined readiness to unblock transport communications in the region, which corresponds to the interests of all border countries," the statement said.
It is noted that the change of the route for the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku flight will result in a reduction of flight time on this route, as well as a decrease in fuel consumption during the flight.
Thus, from now on, AZAL will be able to utilize all existing air corridors, including those passing through Armenia and Iran, the statement added.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian side has not yet reported anything regarding this matter.
