4 kilograms of gold and $2.6 million: Georgian woman robs Iraqi businessman and flees
A Georgian woman has stolen 4 kilograms of gold and $2.6 million from an Iraqi businessman, local media reports. The incident occurred in the city of Dahuk in Iraqi Kurdistan. Police have managed to recover most of the cash and gold, but have not arrested the robber as she had already left Iraqi Kurdistan.
Authorities established that the Georgian woman fled to Turkey through the Ibrahim Khalil border crossing, taking with her $20,000. An investigation is ongoing into 20 suspects linked to her, with three already arrested.
Local media outlets indicate that this is the largest robbery in the history of Dahuk.
