Pashinyan Watched the Violence in Parliament with Satisfaction: 'Hraparak'
During the brawl that took place in the National Assembly yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present in the parliamentary hall with a satisfied demeanor, surrounded by bodyguards, sitting in place, and smiling. Opposition lawmakers claimed that the second incident, in particular, occurred under his direct instructions.
During the speech of Vahe Hakobyan, a member of the 'Armenia' alliance, the head of the ruling 'Civil Contract' party, Vahagn Aleksanyan, shouted obscenities from his seat, and when he received a response not to speak like that, he insisted on attacking Hakobyan. The members of the ruling party organized an assault, getting up from their seats and moving toward Hakobyan. At the same time, Alen Simonyan, who had immediately called security during all minor clashes, did not issue any such instruction after Aleksanyan kicked Hakobyan.
For about five minutes, the ruling majority was beating the small opposition group, after which new riot police entered the hall. Meanwhile, Pashinyan watched with satisfaction as his affiliate Vahe Galumyan and Haik Sargsyan assaulted Hakobyan, Gegham Manukyan, and others. After the incident, a break was announced, and the ruling party went to the office of their faction leader, Konjoryan. On the way, the day’s heroes were boasting about who had hit which opposition lawmaker in which way.
