Avinyan Will Not Remain Unemployed: 'Hraparak'

According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', Vice Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan had a farewell message where he explained his departure from the executive branch and his exclusion from the electoral list of the Civil Contract party.

“This decision was conditioned by some disagreements regarding the electoral list. Our struggle is based on the principles of democracy, freedom, and the exclusion of corruption… A fundamental principle in this matter is also the separation of business and politics, regardless of individuals. However, in the case of the proposed electoral list, I was not confident that this principle was being maintained, and we were in no way deviating from it,” he wrote.

Many understood what, or rather who, he was referring to: businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan. The matter is that during the list formation phase, Tigran Avinyan was vehemently opposed to including businessmen, especially Sukiasyan, in the parliament and issued an ultimatum: “It’s either me or Grzo.”

Apparently, Nikol Pashinyan chose Sukiasyan. However, this does not mean that Avinyan will be left jobless; he is the chairman of the Anif Foundation's board and may be appointed as the director in place of Vahan Papazyan's son, which is a highly paid position.
