Ambulance Involved in Accident, Patient Dies at Scene, Injured Reported

A tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region today. Around 2:00 AM, a collision took place on the 57th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway between a Jinbei vehicle driven by 55-year-old Gnel Harutyunyan from Tavush and a Mercedes driven by 44-year-old Hamlet Khanzadyan from Gegharkunik, according to Shamshyan.com.

As a result of the collision, the Jinbei overturned. The vehicle is registered as an ambulance at the Berd Medical Center in Tavush and was transporting 60-year-old Susanna Gevorgyan, who had a severe diagnosis, from one of Yerevan's hospitals.

Due to the overturning, S. Gevorgyan died at the scene, while her sister, 62-year-old Svetlana Gevorgyan, who was also in the ambulance, received first aid at the scene from doctors of the Sevan Medical Center before being transferred to the Sevan Hospital for further treatment.
