Russian Regions Cannot and Will Not Be Subject to Any Transactions: Peskov
The regions of Russia will never be subject to transactions with other countries, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said to reporters on Tuesday, according to TASS news agency.
“Of course, Russian regions cannot and will not be subject to any transactions; this is out of the question,” the Kremlin spokesman stated.
Thus, Peskov commented on the remarks made by Turkish professor Hasan Unal, who suggested that Moscow and Ankara could reach an agreement on the status of Crimea if the Russian Federation recognizes the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (unrecognized) as an independent state.
“It is unlikely that the esteemed professor from Turkey can represent the official position of Ankara,” Peskov added.
