Shirak Region Farmers Open Road on Conditions

After several hours of blockading the Yerevan-Gyumri highway section of Azatana-Benjamin, the residents of the Shirak region opened the road in the evening following promises and appeals. The farmers were assured that the head of the State Committee of Water Economy would personally visit the Shirak region tomorrow or the day after.

Representatives from the Shirak regional police negotiated with the farmers, urging them to open the road. They agreed to do so on the condition that they would meet with the head of the water economy committee tomorrow. In a conversation with our correspondent, the head of the Azatana community stated that an arrangement has already been made.
