Ankara and Paris Can Together Support Peace That Will Bring Prosperity to Azerbaijan and Armenia, Says Cavusoglu
Turkey and France have navigated through a period of tension in their relations, which is unusual for the two allied countries, said Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in an article published in the French publication L'Opinion ahead of his visit to Paris.
“However, the communication that took place between our presidents at the beginning of March provides an opportunity to strengthen our ties. My visit to Paris reflects that mutual desire,” Cavusoglu stated.
According to him, the regional issues that have recently put Ankara and Paris at odds allow both parties to “see an increasing number of coincidences in viewpoints and common interests.”
The Turkish Foreign Minister also expressed confidence that Ankara and Paris “can together support lasting peace in the South Caucasus, which will bring prosperity to Azerbaijan and Armenia.”
“Turkey and France can make a significant contribution to the stability of the South Caucasus through their joint efforts,” the article noted.
