Putin Says He Will Miss Merkel

Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken about the good partnership relations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, stating that he will miss her.

“I do not know who will replace her. We truly have a partnership relationship with Angela, and I value her highly,” Putin said during a meeting with heads of international news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Putin also noted that Merkel is an experienced politician, a straightforward and reliable person who knows how to consistently prove her position. The Russian leader expressed hope that the relations with Germany’s future leadership will be just as stable.
