No corridor or piece of territory can be granted through Armenia's sovereign territory, it is excluded: Edmon Marukyan

Before opening communications, our legislation must be completely revised and aligned with our security challenges. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Bright Armenia' party, during a meeting with supporters in Kotayk Province.

“There is no Megrik corridor. The document dated November 10 does not mention a Megrik corridor. It states that a road is being granted, but does not specify where. Our position is as follows: no corridor, no piece of territory can be granted through Armenia's sovereign territory; this is excluded,” said Marukyan.

Continuing his remarks, the LHK leader noted, “The document dated November 10 states that the parties are going for unblocking. This means that everyone is opening the blockade and starting to communicate. Now, if we are opening the roads and they are opening, why does Azerbaijan want a separate sovereign corridor? Essentially, they want land from Armenia, they want territory, they want a road to become their own property,” the MP remarked, adding that they are in favor of opening borders, but propose to revise the entire legislation before doing so.
