Mother See Strongly Condemns Attitude Towards Remains of Fallen Soldiers

The photographs published in the press yesterday showing the remains of Armenian servicemen thrown on the floor of the morgue at the tuberculosis hospital in Abovyan, along with the accompanying video, have evoked widespread outrage and concern from the public, families of the fallen, and those missing in action. No official statement or justification can excuse such disrespectful treatment of the remains of our people's heroic sons.

The remains of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland and the safety and peaceful life of our people must be treated with the utmost respect, regardless of any ongoing processes concerning them.

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin strongly condemns the actions that have taken place. Such phenomena deepen the pain and suffering of our people who have endured the horrors of war and create distrust towards state authorities that are supposed to address sensitive issues promptly.
