Gas Meters to Be Installed for Subscribers in Armenia Starting 2022
Starting in 2022, more accurate gas meters will be installed for resident subscribers in Armenia. This announcement was made today by Sergey Aghinyan, a member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Currently, accurate meters are only installed for legal entities. However, starting January 1, 2020, these meters will also be available for citizens. "The meters will allow for a more accurate determination of the volume of gas consumed, and after having sufficient statistical data and analysis, the widespread application of these meters can be discussed," Aghinyan stated.
Additionally, the conditions for connecting new subscribers have been clarified. If the distance from the gas pipeline to the subscriber's home is up to 5 meters, the costs for the connection and installation work will be covered by 'Gazprom Armenia,' while charges from the subscriber's account will be collected at a rate of 5% monthly.
It should be noted that there are over 700,000 subscribers in Armenia.
