160 Armenian Soldiers Are in Iran; Ministry of Defense Has No Comment
160 Armenian soldiers are located in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Recently, one of the reasons for the visit of senior Iranian military officials to Armenia was to discuss issues related to the return of the Armenian soldiers.
According to reliable information from the "Hraparak" newspaper, the Armenian soldiers crossed the Iranian state border during the intense days of war and have been there ever since; it is unknown where they are located and under what status.
It was also reported that Iran has presented certain preconditions to Armenia regarding the return of the Armenian soldiers; the Azerbaijani example is, in fact, contagious, and they are also attempting to take advantage of the circumstance of having "prisoners." .
The information was formally sought from the Ministry of Defense; when we inquired whether it is true that 160 Armenian soldiers are in Iran, the head of the Ministry's press office, Gevorg Altunyan, replied: "The Ministry of Defense has no comment on this issue."
