Ara Aivazyan to Submit Resignation; Bids Farewell to Colleagues in Dushanbe
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ara Aivazyan, participated in the CSTO Foreign Ministers' Council meeting in Dushanbe from May 19. While in Dushanbe, he learned about the existence of a new document and has been monitoring the unfolding events in Armenia from there.
Yesterday, his deputy, Avet Adonts, emphasized in Goris that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was unaware of this document — they learned about it from the media.
Reports indicate that there is significant tension within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with all officials distressed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's behavior. The minister and deputy ministers are considering resigning.
Moreover, according to our source, Ara Aivazyan bid farewell to his colleagues in Dushanbe, stating that he would submit his resignation upon returning to Yerevan. We also learned that the government is attempting to prevent this resignation. At yesterday's cabinet meeting, Pashinyan's remarks suggesting that the Foreign Minister is engaged in serious diplomatic work and that he is satisfied with these efforts were aimed at preventing the resignation.
Ara Aivazyan is currently en route and is expected to arrive in Armenia in a few hours.
