Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry on Armenian Captives
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has issued a statement reiterating its official falsehood, claiming that Azerbaijan has returned all military captives to Armenia, according to Sputnik Azerbaijan.
“Currently, Armenian diversants are detained in Azerbaijan, who were sent into Azerbaijani territory a few weeks after the signing of the trilateral agreement on November 10, 2020, which stipulated a ceasefire in all military operations. In the last 10 days of November, more than 60 individuals from the Shirak region were dispatched into Azerbaijani territory. These individuals are under legal detention in Azerbaijan, in accordance with both international and domestic law. They are being tried under Azerbaijani legislation for murder, diversion, and other crimes. On May 4, 2021, our country made a humanitarian gesture, returning 3 detainees to Armenia without pressing charges,” emphasized the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
