Central Administrative District Without Leadership: Mayor on Vacation, Deputy Arrested
The Central Administrative District of Yerevan has been without leadership since yesterday. The mayor, Avet Poghosyan, has been on vacation since April 20, and his responsibilities were being carried out by his first deputy, Armen Azizyan, who was arrested following yesterday’s high-profile incident.
During a visit by Armtimes today, the central municipal office was peaceful, while the door to the office of the head of the Department of Urban Development and Land Use, Manvel Margaryan, was sealed.
It is noteworthy that Manvel Margaryan was physically assaulted in his own office by certain members of the municipal leadership, including Armen Azizyan.
