Searches Conducted in the Housing of Don Pippo and 13 Others in Bodyguard Murder Case: Details

Today, law enforcement officials conducted searches in the homes of Arthur Asatryan, also known as criminal authority Don Pippo, and 13 other individuals. This was reported to Haykakan Zhamanak by Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The searches were carried out as part of the investigation into the murder of Asatryan's bodyguard.

Asatryan's attorney, Mkrtych Vasakyan, stated in an interview with Haykakan Zhamanak that a search had taken place in Asatryan's residence, but he has no procedural status in the case. “Nothing was found during the search, and naturally, nothing would have been found,” he emphasized.

The lawyer noted that Asatryan has not yet been interrogated in connection with this case. When asked what the law enforcement officials were searching for in the residence, Vasakyan explained, “The procedure for a search is as follows: they are looking for illegal items, documents, weapons, and ammunition. They were primarily searching for weapons and, of course, did not find any.” He added that they have not yet considered whether to appeal the court's search warrant.

It should be recalled that on May 4, police announced that they had received a report from a medical center regarding a young man born in 1992, who had been transported to them in a deceased state with gunshot wounds. Shortly thereafter, another report was received indicating that a different young man born in 2000 had been admitted for medical assistance with a diagnosis of “soft tissue trauma of the chest.” Following investigative measures, it was established that on May 4, 2021, at approximately 22:30, a person suspected of committing a crime fired numerous random shots from an illegally held firearm at the two young men, who were inside a Hyundai Elantra vehicle and had attempted to flee.
