Our Struggle is Justified, Because Even After Almost a Century, Pan-Turkic Aspirations Have Not Changed, Says Ararat Mirzoyan
In connection with the 106th anniversary of the Genocide, AR President Ararat Mirzoyan has sent a message.
In his message, he noted that each unrecognized and unpunished crime creates fertile ground for its repetition.
According to Mirzoyan, the struggle against genocides and crimes against humanity, which we as a state and people are engaged in, is essentially not only for ourselves but also for all other nations and peoples of the world:
“Today, the entire Armenian people commemorate the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. One hundred and six years after this horrifying crime in human history, it should be noted that the struggle united under a common front by the Armenian people is just and justified. It is just because every unrecognized and unpunished crime creates fertile ground for its repetition. A century of history has shown that unfortunately, genocides and genocidal actions have also been repeated in other parts of the world.
The struggle against genocides and crimes against humanity that we, as a state and people, are engaged in is essentially not only for ourselves but also for all other nations and peoples, so that they do not go through the same calamity that the Armenian people experienced at the beginning of the last century.
Our struggle is justified because even after almost a century, unfortunately, the pan-Turkic aspirations and ambitions, which are incompatible with the presence of the Armenian people in their homeland, have not changed. A vivid proof of this was also the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Artsakh, which posed a vital threat to the entire Armenian people.
As a state, which our ancestors dreamed of at the beginning of the last century and which we restored by the end of this century, we must today develop our security system and environment, and our neighbors must finally understand that we are not planning to leave any part of our homeland. I am convinced that the entire pan-Armenian potential will be focused on the glory of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people,” the message states.
