Ara Saghatelyan Detained as Court Grants NSS Request
The Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan, under the presiding judge Armin Meliksetyan, has granted the request of the National Security Service (NSS) to detain former head of the National Assembly staff Ara Saghatelyan.
It is noteworthy that Ara Saghatelyan, Karen Bekaryan, and Aram Sargsyan were arrested on grounds related to Article 226 of the RA Criminal Code (inciting national, racial, or religious hatred by an organized group), Article 226.2 (public calls for violence by an organized group or justifying or promoting violence publicly), and Article 307.4 (violations of the rules on the publication or dissemination of information during a state of martial law).
