Tigranakert Archaeological Museum Remains in Azerbaijani Control Along with All Artifacts
The Tigranakert Archaeological Museum, along with all its artifacts, has remained under Azerbaijani control. This has been highlighted by archaeologists in conversations with various representatives and journalists.
The presented facts are unfortunate. Archaeologists state that they had explicitly pleaded with the authorities of Artsakh to allow the removal of all ancient exhibits from Tigranakert, but were met with a stark refusal.
They even report that they were prepared to evacuate everything and later, once circumstances settled, return the items. However, they do not know why this was not agreed upon.
