Video: The First Batch of New Buses Begins Operation - Haik Marutyan
The Mayor of Yerevan, Haik Marutyan, wrote on his Facebook page regarding the video, "The first batch of new, compact buses acquired by the city has started operations today. Route 26, which connects the Ajapnyak Lukashin neighborhood to the center of the city with Nork Marash, will significantly ease the burden on residents. Soon, the remaining buses will be deployed on the route, and we will provide additional information about new routes.
I have a few considerations for passengers: Payment must be made upon boarding. The coin acceptance machine only accepts 100 dram coins. If you do not have a 100 dram coin, the driver may provide change in the initial period, but it is highly desirable to have a 100 dram coin. We will soon also have an electronic payment system.
The interior of the bus is under video surveillance for the safety of passengers and overall traffic safety.
Drivers are in special uniforms and are trained not to smoke or use their phones during the trip.
Dear Yerevan residents, the transport reform is going smoothly. Together we will solve all the issues sequentially."
