Current Road Conditions as of 3 PM
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass, the Goris-Sisian road in the Syunik province, and the roads from the 'Amberd' high-mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kary are closed.
The Dilijan serpentine roads and the Chiva-Elpin road in Vayots Dzor province are closed for trailer trucks. The Saravan-'Zanger' section and the tortuous roads of Tigranashen in Ararat province (due to snow) are difficult to pass.
The 'Meghru Sar' (also known as 'Dbag') section in Syunik province is only passable for trailer trucks when using snow chains. Snow is currently falling in Syunik and in the cities of Vayk and Jermuk in Vayots Dzor province.
There is spotty black ice on the roads in Gegharkunik and Aragatsotn provinces. Fog is present in the 'Chayni' serpentine of the Yerevan-Sevan road.
The Road Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures warns that due to heavy snowfall and a lack of visibility, the Sisian-Goris road from the Harjisi junction to the Tatev junction is closed to traffic. Drivers are requested to refrain from traveling in that direction.
