Pashinyan Attempts to Negotiate with the Opposition and Form a Coalition
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently engaging in meetings not only with minor parties to persuade the public that he is still in control of the situation in the country. He is also sending his Minister of Defense to persuade the leader of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation to meet with him.
Pashinyan frequently discusses 'restarting the governance system' and presents personnel reshufflings as part of this process, while also trying to negotiate with the opposition. He has even resorted to threats, stating that if they do not accept his proposed terms, there will be no snap elections.
According to our information, offers to form a coalition have been made to both the Prosperous Armenia Party and the Bright Armenia Party. Negotiations are also ongoing with extra-parliamentary forces, former presidents, and other disgruntled individuals. The belief is that every individual will be offered something, and they will lay down their weapons. In the opposition camp, of course, there are factions willing to cooperate, but some have the fate of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in mind, others believe they can aspire to more, and some want everything, making the plan unattainable.
