EU Discusses New Sanctions Against Russia Following Navalny's Arrest
The European Union is deliberating at various levels about the imposition of new restrictions against Moscow following the arrest of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny. This was announced by Markus Ederer, the EU Ambassador to Russia.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry urged foreign political figures who commented on the situation regarding Navalny to respect international law and focus on their own countries' issues.
“The EU's collective response to Navalny's arrest is being discussed in various European institutions,” Ederer told reporters. He reminded that sanctions against specific individuals were introduced in relation to the incident with Navalny back in October 2020.
