Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan Likely to Submit Resignation by End of January
"Persistent rumors are circulating that Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan will also submit his resignation by the end of January. We had reported that the relationship between Marutyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been tense for several months. At the end of December, Pashinyan conveyed to Marutyan that the 'My Step' faction in the Council would express a vote of no confidence and remove him, but Marutyan asked for time, saying that he would resign voluntarily. Instead of him, the name of council member Armen Kotolyan is being floated as a possible successor," writes the newspaper 'Hraparak'.
