Lavrov on Incidents Recorded After Ceasefire Establishment in Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Zone
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has addressed an incident recorded in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone following the establishment of a ceasefire.
In an interview with TASS, Lavrov noted that the incident occurred in an area where there were no Russian peacekeepers present. "No provocative actions against Russian peacekeepers have been recorded yet. The only significant violation noted along the contact line on December 13 occurred where there are no Russian peacekeepers. The steps taken by our peacekeeping force command in communications with Azerbaijani and Armenian colleagues allowed us to avoid an escalation of the incident. We will continue to exert every effort to prevent ceasefire violations," said Lavrov.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone is showing signs of stabilization.
On December 13, the Azerbaijani side launched an attack towards the villages of Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd, which are under the control of Nagorno-Karabakh.
