Do Not Raise Prices Before Announcing Discounts: Warning from the Competition Protection Authority
The Republic of Armenia's Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition urges economic operators to strictly adhere to the provisions of the legislation on the protection of economic competition during the frequent discounts and promotions associated with the New Year.
In particular, the Commission advises to refrain from publishing incomplete, false, or misleading information regarding active discounts on products, artificially raising the price of a product before announcing a discount, and then selling it at the inflated price prior to the increase, among other practices.
The Commission once again reminds that all of the aforementioned actions are manifestations of unfair competition, for which the economic operator may be fined up to 5% of the revenue of the previous year corresponding to the violation.
If you encounter similar issues, you can contact the Commission.
