Cavusoglu to Meet Lavrov in Sochi, Topic of Discussion Revealed
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has announced a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov scheduled for December 29, along with the topics to be discussed, as reported by the TASS news agency.
"We cooperate with Russia in many areas, even if our views differ on certain issues. We have different perspectives on Syria, but our cooperation, which started thanks to the Astana process, continues. In Libya, we are also on different sides, but we shared our work at a high level with Russia, which has been carried out for establishing a permanent ceasefire. We will also discuss the topic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is necessary to ensure the security of Azerbaijan's borders within the framework of international law. We will discuss the steps that need to be taken," he stated.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Cavusoglu would visit Sochi on December 29 to participate in the 8th meeting of the joint strategic planning group operating within the framework of the Russian-Turkish high-level cooperation council.
