Charges Filed Against Former Head of Erebuni Community, His Son, and Former Deputy
The investigation into the criminal case opened regarding the disruption of activities at the "Gortsaranayin" subway station on December 11, 2020, is ongoing at the Shengavit Investigative Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
During the preliminary investigation, sufficient evidence was gathered to bring charges against D.G., the former head of the Erebuni community, his son T.G., and former deputy of the head of Erebuni administrative district A.O. for committing an offense under Article 322, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (self-justice). They have been placed under signature as a preventive measure not to leave.
Earlier, it was reported that starting from around 09:10 on December 11, 2020, the normal operations of the metro were disrupted for about 40 minutes as a group of individuals participating in a protest stood at the doors of parked trains on both sides of the platform, preventing them from closing and allowing the trains to operate. As a result, the metro's activities came to a complete halt, and numerous passengers were unable to use the metro services.
The investigation is ongoing. Regarding recent statements made by the former head of the community claiming he did not participate in the protest, it should be noted that a video widely circulated on the internet clearly shows the former head actively participating and taking action during the protest. We provide the mentioned video to avoid unnecessary speculations.
Notice: The accused or suspected person is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force, in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia.
