Arthur Vanetsyan Provides Physical Security Guarantees to Nikol Pashinyan
Nikol Pashinyan has no choice but to submit his resignation. This was stated by Arthur Vanetsyan, former Director of the National Security Service and leader of the Homeland party, during a conversation with reporters.
In response to the comment that law enforcement agencies will use force to prevent acts of disobedience, Vanetsyan emphasized, "Not only law enforcement agencies but also the entire state system and institutions in Armenia do not comply with Nikol Pashinyan."
When asked about reports in the media that Pashinyan had personally sent a messenger to him to obtain security guarantees, Vanetsyan noted that he would not comment on that issue. He stressed that he personally provides physical security guarantees to Nikol Pashinyan.
Regarding questions about Pashinyan's message today, Vanetsyan stated that he cannot hear Pashinyan, he only reads the transcript, and has not yet had the opportunity to read it.
In response to the comment that Pashinyan mentioned in his message that diplomacy has been defeated for 25 years and that he himself signed a document of defeated diplomacy, Vanetsyan replied, "I do not wish to assess the mistakes or positive actions made earlier; I can only say one thing: Pashinyan came and announced that negotiations would start from his point. Whether there were failures in the past is irrelevant; with that statement, the responsibility is lifted from the previous leaders."
Vanetsyan added that he feels very bad going into the streets today to demand Pashinyan's resignation, as instead everyone could have come together to work for the homeland and do something beneficial for the people.
When asked whether they intend to propose Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan for the position of Prime Minister, he stated that this is also unacceptable; they have one demand: Nikol Pashinyan must leave.
