Bear Cub Entangled in Wire Mesh Found in Goghtanik Village

On December 1, 2020, the FPWC Wildlife Rescue Center (WRC) received an alert about a bear cub trapped in garden wire mesh in Goghtanik village of Vayots Dzor province. The cub had become ensnared and was unable to free itself.

WRC specialists immediately traveled to the site to assist the animal. After examining the area, the team sedated the bear cub using a specialized remote drug delivery device. To ensure the safety of both the animal and the local residents, the cub was transported in a sleeping state a short distance from the village and returned to the wild.
