I Am Grateful for Being by My Side During These Difficult Days: Shushan Stepanyan

Shushan Stepanyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, wrote on her Facebook page:

“Dear compatriots, beloved colleagues,

To my dear followers,

I am the daughter of freedom fighter Shahen Stepanyan, who fought on the entire southern front during the First Artsakh War and was killed in the liberated Fizuli. Born in the town of Hadrut, my attitude towards this war has been profoundly personal. I have accepted the outcome of the war not only as a representative of the defense agency but also as a personal loss.

I believe that in this difficult moment for the homeland, there is a greater need for officials who will not make decisions based on emotional grounds, but will view phenomena professionally and work with their full potential. This is something that I am currently unable to do.

I am grateful for being by my side and for the support during these difficult days. We have tried to be guided by the laws of informational struggle, providing information that should be delivered to the society of a country at war according to written and unwritten rules. If I have succeeded in anything, I consider you my primary motivation, for which I am immensely grateful.

The Armenian army will continue to be the banner of national victories. Mourning is eternal if there is no struggle; only in that case.”
