Widespread Battles Erupt in the Southeast Direction Using All Weaponry, Says Sarumyan

“At the moment when the ceasefire was supposed to take effect, it was already obvious that Azerbaijan had no intention of adhering to the agreements reached,” stated Suren Sarumyan, the spokesperson for the Defense Army, in an interview with News.

At approximately 08:00 in the morning, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense issued a statement claiming that the Armenian side had violated the ceasefire. However, after realizing they had acted hastily, they removed the post. A subsequent post, again alleging violations of the ceasefire by Armenia, appeared a few minutes later.

“Throughout the day, military aviation was employed in the direction of Martuni, and after noon, large-scale ground battles erupted in the southeastern direction. All types of weaponry and units are being utilized, supported by aviation. Our fighters in the Defense Army are successfully pushing back the assaults. Widespread military operations are currently ongoing there. It can be said that the third attempt at a ceasefire has also failed,” Sarumyan noted.
