The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Will Have a Negative Impact on the Entire Region, Says Georgia's Foreign Minister
The escalation of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan will have a severely negative impact on the entire Caucasus region. This was stated by Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani at the conclusion of a meeting of the National Security Council. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the situation prevailing in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Zalkaliani called on the international community and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to utilize any available opportunity to de-escalate the situation. "We all understand that further escalation of the situation will have serious negative implications for the security of the entire region. We have acted, we are acting, and we will continue to act based on our friendly relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan. Georgia has always remained committed and will remain committed to our obligations to our neighbors, as well as to international commitments," he said.
