‘Im Kayl’ Faction Meeting Highly Intense, Discontent With Government Approach

According to the ‘Zhoghovurd’ newspaper, yesterday’s meeting of the National Assembly’s ‘Im Kayl’ faction was highly intense. There were even opinions voiced that such an open, transparent, and heated discussion had never occurred in previous meetings. During the session, each deputy expressed their viewpoints and even engaged in debates with their colleagues.

As known, yesterday the deputies discussed how they would vote on the candidacies of Vahram Avetisyan, Ervand Khundkaryan, and Artur Vagharyan for the Constitutional Court. It is noteworthy that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, also participated in the faction meeting, and nearly all deputies delivered speeches. Aside from this topic, they expressed general dissatisfaction with the government’s approach, as it seems that the government thinks that whatever project they present, the deputies should vote in favor.

It is likely that as a result of the discussions, a decision will be made to leave the voting free. Some deputies from ‘Im Kayl’ are more opposed to the candidates presented by the government and the president, Avetisyan and Vagharyan, while there hasn't been much heated discussion about Khundkaryan, and the sentiment towards him isn't as unfavorable.

Notably, despite the heated nature of the meeting, no final decision was made.
