Police Conducts Investigation on Demolition of Trailer Houses in Amulsar Area
The police are conducting an investigation regarding the demolition of trailer houses in the Amulsar area. This was reported to Armenpress by the Public Relations and Media Department of the RA Police.
The Armenian Environmental Front issued a statement indicating that the company Lydian Armenia had removed the trailers of protectors of Amulsar and replaced them with their own.
"This is an unacceptable violation of the right to peaceful resistance. Especially considering that according to official police data, these trailers were not located within the territory of a private company," the Armenian Environmental Front's statement read, also calling on citizens to come out and protest.
Lydian Armenia, in turn, announced that it had removed illegal property from its own territory. "This morning, Lydian initiated the removal of the trailers that have been illegally located on Lydian's legal territory for nearly two years. Lydian Armenia has all the permits to carry out works in the Amulsar area, which have not been revoked or even temporarily suspended in any way," the statement noted.
Various environmental organizations and several citizens have already begun protests and a car rally towards that area.
