Stabbing in Yerevan: 48-Year-Old Resident Arrested
On August 1, 2020, at 23:30, a report was received from the M. Heratsi Medical Center regarding a 32-year-old man who had been transported with a stab wound to the left flank.
The man was diagnosed with a penetrating stab wound to the left side of the chest. Following the incident, the Kentron-Zeytun division of the Armenian Police initiated a criminal case under Article 112 of the Armenian Criminal Code (infliction of serious harm to health) and sent it to the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for further investigation.
The 32-year-old man was recognized as the victim. Investigations and procedural actions revealed that around 23:00 on the same day, a conflict over domestic issues had broken out between the individuals, during which the 32-year-old was stabbed by a 48-year-old resident of Yerevan.
During the investigation, evidence was gathered, including an on-site inspection and interviews with several individuals. A forensic medical examination was ordered.
The 48-year-old resident of Yerevan voluntarily presented himself at the Kentron-Zeytun Police Division, bringing with him the knife used in the crime. He has since been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
