On July 28, Armenian Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan met with Sergey Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Armenia. Colonel Andrey Grishchuk, the military and air attaché of the Russian embassy in Armenia, also participated in the meeting.
The parties discussed current issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation, as well as the military-political situation in the region. The Armenian Minister of Defense presented the recent situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the contact line between the Azerbaijani and Artsakh forces, emphasizing the constructive and stabilizing role of the Russian side.
Davit Tonoyan also shared his assessments regarding the political and military actions by Azerbaijan and Turkey that destabilize the security situation in the region, noting that the Armenian armed forces, along with the relevant units of the Armenian-Russian joint group, continue to monitor, analyze, and remain prepared for any developments in the situation with all intelligence measures.
